Aero-Engine Machined Components

Hobbs Aerospace machines two engineered families of aero-engine components spanning eight product categories. Every part is produced to OEM drawing and revision in titanium, Inconel, or high-strength steel — engineered for the extreme vibration, temperature, and pressure of aero-engine service.

Engine Line & Plumbing Hardware

Precision fittings that route, redirect, join, and seal fluid and gas lines throughout the engine. Machined to close tolerance for leak-free performance under pressure and vibration.

Elbows & 'T' Pieces (Tees)

Fittings that change the direction of fluid or gas within engine lines. Elbows provide a 90-degree or 45-degree turn; 'T' pieces split a single fluid channel into two separate lines — often used for tapping oil pressure or coolant sensors.

Adaptors & Connectors

Parts that join different plumbing standards or thread sizes. Adaptors connect two lines of different sizes, shapes, or thread pitches, while connectors (couplings) unite identical lines to extend their overall length.

Ferrules

Mission-critical sealing components for jet engines and turbofans, designed to withstand extreme vibration, high temperatures, and intense pressure — machined and manufactured for repeatable, reliable joints.

Structural & Rotating Hardware

Complex, large-format and precision-balanced components at the structural and rotating heart of the engine — machined across multiple axes to tight dimensional and geometric tolerances.

Complex Machined Components

Large rings, flanges, engine blocks, valves, and housings. Large-format structural and pressure-bearing parts, machined across multiple axes to tight tolerances for critical engine assemblies.

Oil Distributors

Oil distributor assemblies, cleanliness-verified to ensure zero contaminants — critical for reliable lubrication flow within the engine.

Shaft Assemblies

Machined shafts, precision-balanced to restrict unbalance within specified limits for smooth, high-speed rotating performance.

Hubs

Inconel housing structures with complex turned and milled profiles, capable of withstanding high operating temperatures.

Vanes

Aerofoils with complex aerodynamic profiles, machined on 5-axis equipment to increase gas velocity and provide smooth flow through the engine.

Engineering & Certification Note

All components are engineered to customer drawing and revision, supported by an AS9100D quality system, NADCAP special-process approval, customer-specific PPAP / FAI sign-off, and export-control compliance where applicable.

FAQ

Aero-Engine Machined Components: Frequently Asked Questions

What aero-engine components does Hobbs Aerospace produce?

Hobbs Aerospace produces eight categories of aero-engine machined components across two families: engine line and plumbing hardware — elbows and ‘T’ pieces, adaptors and connectors, and ferrules — and structural and rotating hardware — complex machined components, oil distributors, shaft assemblies, hubs, and vanes.

What tolerances can Hobbs Aerospace hold on machined components?

All components are machined to customer drawing and revision, to the tight dimensional and geometric tolerances aero-engine service demands — from close-tolerance fittings and ferrules through large-format structural and rotating hardware.

Are Hobbs Aerospace components traceable?

Yes. Every heat and lot is backed by a Certified Material Test Report, with material sourced exclusively from customer-approved mill and distributor suppliers on the Qualified Parts List.

Can Hobbs Aerospace machine custom or complex components to a specific drawing?

Yes. All parts are engineered to customer drawing and revision, supported by a quality system sequenced toward AS9100D and NADCAP special-process approval. Contact our team with your drawing and program details for a capability review.
